Day 2 is a Sea Day and our first full day on the ship. We started out by sleeping in and going up to Windjammer for breakfast. Amy really wants to do main dining room for breakfast but today was just easy quick breakfast day.
The first thing on our schedule was to do the Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle. This was organized by those of us on the forum to gather for meeting each other, a chance to win some prizes, gift exchange, slot pull, and also a cabin crawl. Well, we didn’t win any Royal Caribbean swag. We also chose not to do a gift exchange or the slot pull. But we did want to do the cabin crawl. Unfortunately most people didn’t stick around to do the cabin crawl and went to the slot pull.
Luckily there were a few people available to visit a few rooms. First one we visited was a Royal Family Suite. This one had its own doorbell, hallway, two bedrooms, a living room, and a large balcony. It is located at the aft of the ship. Unfortunately you have to have at least 5 people in your party to book that room and sleeps up to 8. We may need to find someone to slplit this type of room with next time.
The next one we saw was a Grand Suite. This one was much fancier but not as practical for a large group. The room was big and open and had a large balcony. It also included a DVD player with Xbox, a bar, and a huge bathroom. In addition to the room itself, suites also receive other perks like free alcohol, internet, priority access on and off the ship, and special seating at shows.
The people whose rooms we visited also wanted to see our special Ben & Jerry’s Sweet. The tour of our room went pretty quickly compared to theirs. But their fancy rooms didn’t have cows and free ice cream.
After the room visits it was time for lunch. We decided to make it quick and easy and do Windjammer Buffet again.
After lunch we went back to our room and found more of our “sweet” perks delivered. Like the other real suites we received robes and nice shampoo, conditioner, & body wash. They also had a cheese plate sitting there for us to snack on too. One other benefit that we didn’t look into yet but heard from the other Suite guests was that we could visit the Suite Lounge. Inside that prestigious room was free fancy coffee, hors d’oeuvres, and open bar. Before we could take advantage of that we needed to make our Sea Pass card the right color to match the other real Suite guests so a quick visit to Guest Services and we were set.
Today was formal night but before we had to get dressed up, we decided to find a few more things to do. First was really windy miniature golf. And a scavenger hunt where we joined another group of people and had to run around the ship picking up a few things. We had everything needed except the false teeth and tried to use a retainer instead but it didn’t pass. We had the stuffed animal in our room with our large plush cow pillow. Another team found an old lady with fake teeth and ended up winning.
Next it was time for us to get fancied up and ready for formal night. After being dressed we decided to join the rest of the suite passengers and check out the hors d’oeuvres and free drinks in the Suite Lounge. We enjoyed our free snacks and a couple drinks before heading down to the main dining room.
Because we are a table of two and also pretty quick eaters (when kids aren’t with us) we were able to get to the earlier show of singing and dancing cast. It was pretty cool with people hanging and flying around attached to the ceiling. I really wasn’t sure of the whole theme of the show but it looked cool.

The last thing we had scheduled for the day was to see the 18 and over comedy show at 10:15 PM. To fill time before the show we decided to talk to the kids through Wi-Fi calling to check out how their day of school went. Then we watched a little bit of the Finish That Lyric game show. Then we capped the night off with the comedy show. Apparently you can laugh so much to be annoying because the comedian finally had to have a lady from the front row get escorted out because it was ruining the flow of his show with her loud laughing.

Now I’m typing this as I’m doing my laps around the track watching NBA highlights after midnight in the Gulf of Mexico.

Tomorrow’s another sea day with several shows to be seen including an ice show and a Motown music group. They are also showing Rogue One on the movie screen at night by the pool.
